Manuka Honey is gaining in popularity today.  Unfortunately, it’s expensive.  Really expensive.   This DIY Manuka Honey Recipe is a homemade alternative I use and enjoy.

Properties of Manuka Essential Oil

Steam distilled from the leaves and stems of the plant, Manuka oil has a woodsy, slightly sweet scent. Manuka essential oil can be compared to Tea Tree essential oil, as Manuka oil benefits the skin in a similar way. 

 

DIY Manuka Honey Recipe Ingredients

* Raw Honey  Preferably organic.

* Young Living Manuka Essential Oil

* A tight fitting lidded glass jar. I really like these jars to store my Manuka Honey Recipe in.  I love the labels and pen they come with.

Steps To Make  DIY Manuka Honey Recipe

In a 4 ounce glass jar combine 4 ounces of honey with 8 drops of Manuka Essential Oil and stir.  Keep tightly covered.

Why Worry About Preparing?

Preparedness for a disaster makes a lot of sense. With recent and predicted events like Hurricane Sandy, The Colorado Wildfires, Fiscal Cliffs, and rising food and gas costs just in 2012 there is no denying that things are changing in our world. Whether or not you believe "The End of the World As We Know It" is near there are plenty of everyday things to worry about: loss of a job, health emergency, local weather events to name a few.

I find that I worry less about the big "what if's" out there the more emergency planning my family does to deal with the unexpected. I will share the survival tips and tricks I have learned while on this preparedness journey and hope that you join in with lots of comments. We all have a lot to learn from one another.
